We are a group of young people from Swale with learning disabilities who want to live our lives as we choose. The activities at Delacey help us gain the skills to live more independently in our local community and make choices about our future, including healthy living, money management, education and employment.
We have designed a website as part of our 10 week course that we do at the Delacey Hall in Sheerness on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
We have also done this to show our friends, families, and Care Managers what we do and how important it is to us.
Over the next few pages you will read about the Community of Swale and also our activities that we do.
So here goes...... Welcome to our website. It is about us and our community in which we live, and the Delacey Hall activities that we attend, which are run by East Kent Mencap. For more details about East Kent Mencap, use the link button above to go to their website.
We can go to Delacey Hall twice a week from 9am till 2.30pm. We enjoy going here as we meet friends and also learn whilst having fun.
Recently we all agreed on three courses which are changeable every 10 weeks. We can do cooking, drama, media, and sport. The courses have been designed so we can learn whilst having fun. We must show dedication and commitment as this will help us later in life with possible employment. At the end of the course we gain a cerfificate that we can show potential employers.
